Arunachal Pradesh is a vast state with 83,743 sq km. of area spread across 5 major
River
Valleys namely Kameng, Subanshri, Siang, Dibang and Lohit with latitudinal expanse
of
more than 1000 Kms and Longitudinal extend of almost 200 Kms. The state has around
79.63
percent of Forest Cover with almost 11.90 percent of state’s geographical area under
Protected Area Network. The Protected Area Network is spread across latitudinally
from
Bhutan Border to Myanmar Border and altitudinally from 300 m MSL such as Pakke Tiger
Reserve and D-Ering Wildlife Sanctuary to 5000 m MSL such as Dibang Wildlife
Sanctuary.
The immense biodiversity of Flora and Fauna is sheltered in Protected Areas (PA) of
Arunachal Pradesh which also witness new discoveries periodically. It has
breathtaking
landscapes constituting High-Altitude Lakes on one side while magnificent undulated
foothills of Himalayas on the other. In addition to this, the cultural heritage
further
intrigues the visitors on their visit to the land of dawn lit mountains. Thus, the
Protected Areas with their unique and diverse natural landscapes and highly
biodiverse
flora fauna provide huge Eco-Tourism potential for the state.
The PA Network in the state can broadly be classified in following Eco-Tourism
Circuits:-
This circuit lies in the Kameng Watershed region in western part of the state which is en-route to places such as Bomdila, Dirang, Tawang and Bumla Pass. The Circuit has the significance of providing the wholesome tourism experience constituting the Wildlife Tourism in Pakke Tiger Reserve and Eaglenest Wildlife Sanctuary; Cultural Tourism in form of experiencing the cultural heritage of Aka Tribe in Bhalukpong to Monpa Tribe in Tawang; Religious Tourism in Tawang, Adventure Tourism in sites like West Kameng River, Recreational Tourism at high altitude Lakes in Tawang and others.

This circuit is along mighty Siang River and lofty mountains that provide the breathtaking view to the visitors. Dibang is the landscape lying at the confluence of three biogeographical realms, India, Chinese and Burmese.
